On tour: The Ideal Home Show
03 May 2016 ·
We recently headed down to the Ideal Home Show at the Olympia in London to support our client Pebble Grey.
We arrived armed with press packs, excited to see what was on show. We work with a few different home interiors clients including Direct Blinds and Time4Sleep so the sector itself has become a real interest for quite a few members of the Jaywing PR team.
The Time4Sleep account team had managed to secure a great product placement opportunity so we headed to one of the show homes to take a sneak peek at the three Time4Sleep beds styled by Linda Barker. (They looked amazing!)
The Pebble Grey stand was in prime position, opposite the two show homes and in the middle of the arena. This was perfect for attracting people to the stand and was a hot spot for passers-by to stop and admire the mirrors on display.
It was great to see the products in action. Pebble Grey sell a range of illuminated mirrors and bathroom accessories, so to see some of the best-selling products set up and actually in use on the stand was an invaluable way of familiarising ourselves with the products and learning more about the key features and USPs.
We’d anticipated to see a few journalists around on the day from key home interiors publications, so we had sent a few emails prior to the event to let our media contacts know we were going to be there and arranged some times for meeting at the stand.
Having the products there and actually being able to talk the journalists through the Pebble Grey collection while showing them how they work really helped. We even managed to secure a few media opportunities just from showing the journalists the products on display.
One of the best things about the day was spending time with the Pebble Grey in-house team. As well as listening to them talk about the products, it was time well spent building relationships with our key client contacts.
Before heading home, we visited the Good Homes Magazine room sets. We had been waiting all day to get a chance to pop over and couldn’t wait to see what the talented stylist Kate McPhee had created. We’d heard such good reviews and the designs certainly did not disappoint!
Our favourite room was the rose gold inspired bathroom:
The day was a huge success. We met with some familiar faces and even managed to make a few new media contacts by some simple Twitter stalking and hashtag searching.
We left full of interiors inspiration with expanding wish lists for our own homes.
